My tumor markers have been going up and my doctor switched me from Arimidex to Aromasin (Exemastane). I had been trying to get a PET scan but Medicaid wouldn't pay for it so I decided to purchase another health insurance and this new insurance approved the PET and just yesterday I went in for it. Next week I have my regular appointment at the oncologist and will get my Zometa infusion and the results from the PET.

This time I am more anxious because I've been getting increasing pain in my right leg (where the femur broke and cancer was detected in the bones), pain in my right hip and right shoulder blade, and I can't help thinking this could be progression after two years of being stable.

However, today I thought that another possibility would be that the Aromasin is causing the pain as a side effect. With the Arimedex I used to feel stiff but hardly any pain, I am not stiff anymore but oh the pain. In any case, I will know more next week. This is my first time experiencing real "scanxiety".
